Dent on the top side of my lips after fillers. Is this normal? (Photos)

I got fillers for the second time (1 full syringe) yesterday and gradually two lines started to form on the top corner of my lips. The first time I got fillers was back in March (1 syringe as well). My Lips are really small. I had no issues the first time but this time I have to creases I didn’t have before. Is this normal? Will this go away?

This is probably swelling, which can be typical. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. This may be due to swelling which can last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Dear abarca909,dermal fillers have a significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks. These new lines are likely due to swelling. You are most swollen the few days following injection, but you can be swollen up to 2 weeks. I would ice for 20 minutes at a time a few times a day. Give it 2 weeks to see the swelling decrease. If after 2 weeks you are still seeing these creases, I would return to your injector to have some of the filler dissolved. Good luck!

The little indents that you're referring to we're actually present prior to the treatment. It is most likely the swelling itself that is enhancing their appearance. This should go down over the next two weeks. Good luck from New York City
