When can you wear contacts after a transconjuctival blepharoplasty?

I'm interested in getting a transconjuctival blephroplasty but i wear scleral lenses and soft contact lenses. how long after getting this type of procedure should I expect to not wear my lenses? thanks

We would recommend waiting at least 4-6 weeks before starting contacts after transconjuctival blepharoplasty. Good luck.

It's better to wear the lenses at least after 2 weeks, but if you can better to avoid wearing 4 weeks! Pleas e follow the precautions after the surgery includes drinking and harsh exercising as well. If you have further questions then please let me know. Thank you!

In our practice, as long as there's not too much swelling present, most patients are able to go back to wearing soft contacts at 2 to 3 weeks after their surgery.

Thank you for your question.  In general most patients can safely wear soft contacts lenses after one week following a lower eyelid blepharoplasty. If a canthoplasty is done then I advise patients to be careful not to put undue tension on the lower lid  for several weeks when inserting or removing lenses. If a patent wears gas permeable or hard lenses I ask them to use a suction cup post operatively to prevent stratching the eyelids. I would discuss this with your surgeon.
