I am 23 years old. My height is 5’2 and I weigh 125lbs. I’m very insecure about my eye bags and upper eyes not being similar.. What surgery would I be looking for to fix my eyes.. I added a photo of the way I want my eyes to be. I’m unsure if a brow lift or upper/lower blepharoplasty would help me appear more “awake”
Answer: Blepharoplasty Hello ! A lower blepharoplasty will treat eye bags, wrinkles and sagging skin under the eyes whether an upper blepharoplasty will aim to remove excess skin or ptosis (drooping) on the upper eyelid. It can be combined with fat transfer You will likely need a transconjunctival blepharoplasty (lower inside), usually done on younger patients with thicker more elastic skin who have congenital puffy under eye bags, to take away the under eye fat pocket without removing any skin and maybe fat transfer to correct the asymmetries between your 2 eyes. Of course, an “in person” exam is necessary. Best of luck, Randal Haworth

Answer: Non-Surgical Chemical Brow Lift for Eyelid Rejuvenation -- add Ultherapy, Thread Lifting, RF Skin Tightening, Laser Treatments As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. In terms of non-surgical treatment options, I would recommend a Chemical Brow Lift (using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau) and filler injections to rejuvenate the temples, eyebrow, eyelid, eye troughs, upper eye hollows, and forehead. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. In some cases, surgery is the best solution to achieve the desired results. See an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: You need ptosis surgery not blepharoplasty. Blepharoplasty removes skin, muscle, and fat. It does not repair upper eyelid ptosis. Don't work with a surgeon who does not understand that. You will be harmed not helped. You do not have lower eyelid bags and do not need lower blepharoplasty. Unneeded surgery will harm you. You do not need a forehead lift. The challenge is finding a surgeon who can aesthetically deliver the ptosis surgery you need. The American Society for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) maintains a regional directory of qualified surgeon near you. Theses are surgeons who offer ptosis surgery. It is specialized work.
