How can I fix the space between my nostrils? (Photos)

Question

I got a rhinoplasty done to make my wide nose smaller. The dr did that but now the issue is that the space in between my nostrils looks wide and flat. It looks weird and unnatural. Ive expressed my concerns to my dr and told him i want that space to be narrow and like a "v". He acts like he has no idea what im talking about and told me not to compare my nose to other noses. What can be done to fix this? Ive included my nose (top left) along with typical noses for comparison

While a personal evaluation is necessary to recommend options for your nose, any issues with your nasal bridge and columella can be fixed with a revision rhinoplasty. Seek a second opinion if your current surgeon cannot address your concerns and goals. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Such experts will have the skills and knowledge when it comes to the aesthetic and functional elements of the nose and have the ability to fix issues from a primary rhinoplasty –all while having an eye for symmetry and balance. During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your nose, determine your eligibility for revision rhinoplasty, and ensure the best possible results. Good luck!

I’m sorry to hear that you are not happy with your rhinoplasty results from your prior surgeon. Without a photo taken from below looking up at your nostrils (what we call a “worm’s eye” view), it’s difficult to know precisely what you’re referring to, but I am willing to venture a guess. If you’re describing the anatomical area between your nostrils, you are perhaps referring to your columella. Or, if you are speaking about the tip itself, you’re referencing your lower-lateral cartilages. There are surgical fixes for both, and I’ve performed each many times in my own practice. Most importantly, though, it sounds like you and your prior surgeon are not seeing eye to eye. For this reason, it might be wise to seek a second opinion. Ask for your operative report and bring it, along with your before-and-after photos, to this second-opinion appointment. Also, it is crucial that find a surgeon with decades of experience with revision-rhinoplasty surgery. Revision surgery is much more complex than primary surgery, and requires a more advanced skill set.

Your “infra tip lobule” appears wide in front view, and you appear to have a bulbous nasal tip appearance. I see your concern, but it’s difficult to advise without before and after photos.
