I dislike my face and how the cheeks are heavy . I’m 33 but I look so much older!I’m so round faced that it is very unattractive and doesn’t look harmonious. I’m 5’4 and 155lbs. Is weight a big player or would filler help? I feel I look so strange and round. I feel like crying. I don’t want to look older than my age or look like I am without facial harmony. Please give me suggestions. Thank you.
Answer: Injectables Hello, my name is Dr. Burko and I am a Plastic Surgeon at SY Aesthetics in NYC. Prior to injecting, I assess the patient from multiple views in order to explain what I am seeing. It is hard to say with only 1 view of what the best treatment plan is. There are multiple fillers on the market than be used for different areas on the face. My recommendation is for you to see a trained plastic surgeon who can make an assessment and offer you their best treatment plan.

Answer: Weight loss or dermal fillers Hello, and thank you for your question. You are beautiful in your own skin and I understand if you want to improve certain areas. By looking at your photo, it does not seem you need to lose weight, but that can only be determined at an in-person consult to truly evaluate your height, weight, and BMI. If you are concerned about a round face, there are treatment options that can help. We have a masseter muscle in our face that helps with chewing, but it can often increase or bulge in size due to stress, teeth grinding, clenching of the jaw, etc. If this is the case, that muscle can be treated with neurotoxin to help shrink the muscle. This will give a more contoured appearance to the face. On top of this, dermal filler can also help with providing structure and contour to specific areas of the face. I would recommend scheduling a consult with a practitioner to determine the best treatment for you.

Answer: Facial Contouring with Fillers (Juvederm Voluma, Vollure, Volbella, Radiesse, Bellafil), Sculptra, Fat Grafting, Implants Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Facial contours If you notice changes to your facial features when you are at a lower weight then weight loss may help. Surgically you can consider buccal fat removal. You may be a candidate for masseter Botox which slims the jawline. An in person evaluation is needed for the best recommendation.

Answer: Face I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling self-conscious about your facial appearance. It is understandable to want to look your best and feel confident in your own skin. There are several factors that can contribute to a round or heavy appearance of the face, including genetics, age, and weight. Excess weight can certainly play a role, as it can cause the face to appear fuller and less defined. Losing weight through a healthy diet and exercise can help to slim down the face and improve overall facial harmony. In addition to weight loss, there are also non-surgical options that can help to enhance facial symmetry and contour. Dermal fillers can be used to add volume to areas that appear hollow or flat, such as the cheeks or temples, and can help to create a more youthful, lifted appearance. Botox can also be used to relax muscles in the jawline and create a slimmer, more defined look. Surgical options can include buccal fat removal or facial liposuction. If you are interested in exploring these options, it is important to seek the advice of a qualified and experienced facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist. They can evaluate your individual case and recommend the best course of action to achieve your desired results. They may also recommend a combination of treatments to address multiple concerns and create a more comprehensive improvement in facial harmony. I hope this helps, best of luck !
