I’m looking into a capsulotomy on my left side only. I have 390 cc saline moderate profile under the muscle implants on both sides. My left sadly sits both higher and is oval compared to the right. Upon in person exam my doctor does not think it’s capsular contracture. States the bottom of the breast is even and the left breast isn’t hard or too firm. He is suggesting a capsulotomy. Keeping the same implant. I can’t find much on the internet regarding capsulotomy specifically. Will my implant drop? Will it fluff out to look more round like the other side? He is saying after I’ll do massages to help the implant move down. So what is the time frame of the implant moving? I’m scared because it truly messes with my confidence. I feel currently I have two different breast on my chest. A round one and an oval one. One that sits normal and one that sits high. I can’t even wear low cut clothing because the cleavage is strange. So I’m wondering is this procedure a possible solution? What is the timeline of dropping and fluffing? He told me due to swelling etc I’d need to allow a few weeks up to three months and also assist the implant with massage. Thank you for your time and help.

Dear lilyf101,
bottoming out occurs when the implant falls below the current breast crease or inframammary line. It's more likely to happen with inframammary incisions, which is why I try not to use the inframammary approach to any breast surgery.
Bottoming out can also occur if an implant is...
