Would a brow lift fix divot between brows? (Photo)

For many years I’ve had an eye brow divot that’s been getting deeper the older I get. I have been Botox for many years and while it freezes the brows, the divot is still visible. What’s my options if any? I’ve been told filler is a no go in that area

Yes. I would achieve this with an endoscopic brow lift through small incisions at the hairline done under local anesthesia would allow me to eliminated the corrugator supercillii muscles that cause frowning and will help eliminate the vertical divot between your eyebrow.

This small depression in the lower forehead can be treated with injection of filler. It is already embedded in the skin and deeper tissue so that only injection of soft tissue filler or fat can correct it. Hope this helps.

The story is actually quite simple. There are generally two components to wrinkle lines: a dynamic component and and a static component. What this means is that over the years the dynamic, daily motion of the underlying expression muscle eventually leads to a static wrinkle or crease in the "fabric" of the overlying skin (especially as we get older and the natural collagen and elastic fibers in our skin are diminished in both quality and quantity. In order to treat this properly, BOTH aspects contributing to the crease must be addressed. First the underlying muscular activity (the dynamic component) must be diminished. That's where Botox comes in.  Then the overlying crease that has already formed needs to elevated and smoothed. That's where an appropriate natural HA filler in the hands of an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert comes in. Both treatments can actually be done in the same treatment session if so desired. Frankly, I practically do at least one of these kinds of combination treatments every day. An in person evaluation is best, but from the limited photos it appears you would find improvement from a brow lift.  The area between the brows can be addressed and the depression that concerns you can be softened.  See a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.

A full set of facial and forehead pictures of your eyebrows are required to make a determination. A brow lift is only performed when there's low set eyebrows. If there is a divot present, the corrugator muscles are usually softened surgically in addition to placement of a fascia graft in that area.
