Options for removing nose piercing hole? (Photo)

Question

I’ve realized my nose piercing hole has gotten larger over the years. I’m not ready to totally remove it yet, but if it gets any bigger it would probably be the end of it. Is there any way to close up the hole and remove it? The piercing is 15 years old and won’t close. I don’t know if it would shrink. Would it need a skin graft or would it be able to be removed and stitched?

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

Good Afternoon! Thanks for the photos. In order for the hole to close, you would need to remove the skin tract in its entirety. This can be done in the office under local anesthetic. Recovery should be fairly easy. It's trading the hole for a small scar. A skin graft would not be needed. Hope this helps!
