I stopped taking any blood thinners for 2 weeks, however, I had extrememly bad menstrual cramps 3 days prior to my Morpheus 8 appointment that would not resolve with acetaminophen, so I took three 200mg ibuprofens. I wanted to know what the effects Ibuprofen had on the skin if I were to do Morpheus 8. Is it just increased bruising and swelling and if so, do these just go away with time?
Answer: Ibuprofen before Morpheus8 treatment If you took a single dose of 600 mg of Ibuprofen a few days before your Morpheus8 treatment then you will probably have no adverse effect at all, possibly a bit more bruising which will resolve normally.

Answer: Ibuprofen Before Morpheus8 May Increase Bruising and Swelling, but the Procedure Is Likely Still Safe Hi JoanSkin, and thank you for your question regarding the effects of ibuprofen on your upcoming Morpheus8 procedure. Taking ibuprofen three days prior to your appointment should not significantly impact your ability to safely undergo Morpheus8. However, ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which can thin the blood and increase the likelihood of bruising and swelling during and after the procedure. This is because NSAIDs inhibit platelet aggregation, making it more difficult for your blood to clot and potentially prolonging healing in treated areas. If bruising and swelling do occur, they are typically temporary and resolve over time. These effects are usually manageable and should not affect the overall outcome of your treatment. To minimize these side effects: Apply cold compresses to the treated areas immediately after the procedure to reduce swelling. Avoid further NSAIDs, alcohol, or other blood-thinning substances for at least 24–48 hours post-treatment. Follow your provider’s post-treatment care instructions closely, as they may recommend additional measures to optimize healing. If you are concerned about any lingering effects, it is always a good idea to notify your provider before your appointment. They can evaluate your situation and decide if rescheduling the treatment is necessary, though it’s unlikely in this case. I hope this helps clarify what to expect, and I wish you the best with your Morpheus8 treatment! Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Modern Women's Health by Dr. Jukes Correct! Thank you for doing your research. That's exactly what blood thinners will do and why we tend to advise our patients to discontinue. However, you can take arnica or drink pineapple juice prior to also help with these symptoms. Typically bruising isn't common with the facial area and Morpheus8, but it is pretty normal for Morpheus8 Body to bruise.

Answer: Morpheus Thank you for your question! That is a provider specific question, however, I do believe that should be fine. You will be at risk for increased bruising but that will heal.

Answer: Taking ibuprofen a few days before your Morpheus 8 procedure Hello, Taking ibuprofen a few days before your Morpheus 8 procedure is generally not a major concern. Ibuprofen is a mild blood thinner, and it can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after the procedure due to its effect on blood clotting. However, these side effects are usually temporary and should resolve with time. To minimize any potential bruising or swelling, you can apply ice to the treated area post-procedure and follow your provider's aftercare instructions closely. If you're still concerned, it’s a good idea to inform your practitioner about the ibuprofen intake so they can take any necessary precautions during your treatment. Best of luck with your Morpheus 8 procedure!
