Morpheus8 body healing. Are track marks typically gone by a month or would it take longer?

I’m considering Morpheus8 for stomach and thighs for tightening and some fat reduction. I’ve heard the body takes a lot longer to heal than the face. Are track marks typically gone by a month or would it take longer? Also, can anything be done if left with hyperpigmentation? (I’ve heard that can happen which is a bit concerning since I have a bit on my face). Thank you

Hello and thank you for your question.  Track marks are common and can happen anywhere on the body.  In my experience, they do last a bit longer on the body, but fade with time.  The reason for this is the hand piece used for Morpheus Body is stronger than the face hand piece.  Meaning it goes deeper and the tip has 40 pins instead of 12 or 24 pins used on the face.  If you have a history of hyperpigmentation, any well-trained provider will take that into account and adjust your treatment accordingly.  The great thing about Morpheus is it can be customized for each patient.  Another thing to remember is after treatment, the skin is likely to be dry.  You need to keep it well moisturized and maybe even wear loose fitted clothing for a few days as to not irritate the treatment area.  Good luck!

Thanks for your question! Typically, "track marks" after Morpheus8 treatments are gone within 2-4 weeks after treatment. It depends on how aggressive the treatment is. If they are treating for both fat reduction and skin tightening, there may be some marks present for at least a couple of weeks. Your provider will hopefully recommend post treatment products that will help your skin heal from the procedure. And as always, make sure you avoid sun exposure for the 1st month after the treatment to prevent hyperpigmentation. Make sure you speak with your provider regarding these concerns. Good luck!

Downtime varies when it comes to the morpheus8 treatments. The body does take longer to heal because we are able to treat more aggressively, where healing takes about 2 weeks. Hyperpigmentation can happen if you go into the sun post treatment and aren't hydrating appropriately. If you do get hyperpigmentation, we have a hydroquinone cream to help, but if post care is followed no adverse reactions should occur.

Hello! Thank you for your question. The "track marks" from Morpheus8 on the face and neck are typically gone by the 2 week mark latest. On the body, however, it depends on the depth of the treatment. A simple skin tightening would likely clear up in 2 weeks, but deeper treatments for fat or cellulite treatment may take longer to heal. As with any of these treatments, it's recommended to exercise extreme caution with sun exposure, particularly in the first 2-4 weeks after treatment- this should keep you safe from hyperpigmentation. If you are prone to hyperpigmentation without any sort of trigger/treatment, check with your providers to see if there is a protocol in place for managing this side effect. Best of luck! Hello thank you for your question! Typically any redness, swelling, or raised bumps from the procedure only last for 1-3 days. The recovery process is very quick. Hyperpigmentation is not a common side effect to the treatment and proper aftercare following the procedure will drastically reduce the chance of it occurring. You should also address your concerns and your skin type with your provider so they can perform the procedure accordingly.

Thank you for your question! We have seen it take a bit longer for healing on the body and this could be because of the different depths and energy used on the body. With the face we recommend 4-6 weeks apart but with the body we have been going closer to 8-10 weeks to allow the skin the heal. Aquaphor, carboxy masks and red light therapy can speed up this healing time tremendously. Please make sure you are seeing a provider who is thoroughly trained in the appropriate depth and energy for each body part and your provider should review their procedure if there's any hyperpigmentation.

Hello! Typically, the track marks are gone in one month, however, they can last longer. It is hard to predict who this could happen to as everyone heals differently. Same is true for hyperpigmentation. If you have a history of hyperpigmentation on your face from Morpheus, a trained professional will know how to adjust the settings to lessen the likelihood of hyperpigmentation on other body areas. Just make sure they are aware of your history before they begin the treatment. It is true that the "track marks" can last longer on the body as the body handpiece is stronger than the face handpiece. I counsel patients to keep their skin moisturized, shower in lukewarm water, refrain from strenuous exercise, and wear loose-fitted clothing over the treatment area so your skin will heal properly and reduce the risk of any side effects. Morpheus8 is very effective at reducing minor amounts of subcutaneous fat. Morpheus8 is extremely effective in treating stretchmarks and skin laxity on the body (think knees, back of thighs, abdomen, flanks, and bra bulge). If you are looking for a non-surgical option to address stretchmarks and loose skin, a series of Morpheus8 is a great treatment. If you want to fat reduction, I recommend cool sculpting as a non-surgical fat reduction option to be followed by Morpheus8. Morpheus8 will give just that extra thinning of the fat under the skin as well as the skin tightening benefits.

Morpheus 8 does tend to leave more track marks or temporary hyper pigmentation on the body. However, those marks go away, seemingly a little bit slower than they do on your face and neck. Just keep hydrated, keep using hypoallergenic moisturizer, or Aquaphor stay out of the sun and use sunscreen when you have to be in the sun, and all of that should resolve within a month. You also might notice that your body gets a little bit more itchy than your face or neck. That’s pretty typical as well. The Morpheus 8 is a wonderful treatment and we love it. I hope this helps.
