I had liposuction on my neck and jowls in 2014. Over time, it has left me with a scar that goes horizontally across the front of my neck. My skin looks crepey and very uneven under my chin. Are there any treatments or procedures to improve the appearance of my neck and to lighten the scar that I have?

Answer: Consider Nonsurgical HA Filler Necklift For Neck Laxity & Crepeyness & Microneedlng + Rx Prescription Enhancers For Scar Really sorry that this has happened to you. But, I continue to caution my regular followers about the adverse reactions from invasive procedures, as further evidenced by the issues here. Fortunately, HA fillers can be used to help this kind of situation with vertical neck bands. (If the cords are made more prominent by gritting the teeth, then microdroplets of Botox can be injected along the cords to diminish this). If present prominently at rest, as appears to be the case here, then a nonsurgical HA filler necklift can be achieved via the use of an appropriately robust HA filler injected in a semicircular fashion to pull the sides of the neck upwards and backwards in order to flatten the cords followed by the placement of microdroplets of a low viscosity, cohesive malleable HA filler injected in a grid pattern to the central portion for further smoothing. Manual microneedling (no need for the added expense and risks of RF microneedling) accompanied by the application of pigment promoting topical medications, such as tyrosine and lanatoprost, can be used to repigment the hypopigmeneted horizontal scar, You would be wise to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist and make sure to ask to see his/her personal before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: Best Treatment for Your Neck I am unclear how liposuction of the neck would leave you with a scar in the location described, but there is certainly an area of hyperpigmentation. The best and only treatment for the platysmal banding, neck obliquity , and jowling is a deep plane facelift. The hyperpigmentation could be addressed later with RF microneedling.
