Can Re-use of Rogaine help Get the results for Hair Growth in Bald spots?

Hi, I am 30 years old mother of a 3 year old. I was loosing lots of hair few months back so I went to a dermatologist for help. He suggested use Rogaine, I started doing so. My bald spots were covered with lots of baby hairsN was happy with. I constantly used it for 6 month or so. But then I have stopped using it as we were planning for 2nd child. But I am shadding lots of hair and again seeing lots of bald spots on my head. If I start using Rogaine again, will I be getting same results again?

This needs an in-person evaluation. You will need to continue using Rogaine to keep your results. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone which work well with Rogaine. Hair transplantation is an alternative. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

It is difficult to say if Rogaine will regrow the hair again. Any hair gained by use of rogaine will fall out once you discontinue use.

Yes, in general stopping and restarting Minoxidil is fine as long as you aren't doing so constantly. Most patients see diminished returns as they keep restarting but since this is your first time I'd still expect to see some good results when you do start using it again.

Minoxidil must not be used by women who are planning to become pregnant so if you are planning, you'll need to wait. Whether or not minoxidil will work again depends on the cause of your hair loss. It it is androgenetic alopecia (female pattern loss), it will help again but likely not quite as well as the first time. We have found that many women who start and stop don't achieve quite the same level of improvement as the first time around.

Yes usually if you restart to use rogaine and stay on a steady regiment, you will eventually decrease shedding and may grow some hair back.

Yes, you can retry the Rogaine (minoxidil) and see if it works as before as it probably will.  Alternatively, you can use scalp micropigmentation which will make the solution permanent (see below)
