Answer: Is it normal for my legs and feet to be swollen after tummy tuck & lipo on my inner thighs? Congratulations on your recent surgery. The legs after tummy tuck and liposuction is common. However, it sure to follow the instructions of your surgeon and check in with them regularly. Even though it's unlikely, asymmetrical leg swelling can be a sign of a blood clot in the legs.

Answer: Swelling after Liposuction--After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen Swelling may be lower due to gravity. I recommend following up with your Doctor about your compression garment. I recommend customized compression for 6-18 months after liposuction to help reduce swelling. I also suggest adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Foot and ankle swelling after liposuction Hello, maripoza1773. It is quite common to experience swelling of both the legs and ankles following extensive liposuction and surgery. If both your legs and ankles are swollen, it is usually nothing to worry about; however, if the swelling is one-sided, I advise that you call your clinic and explain your symptoms to them as it can be a sign of a blood clot, which is a medical emergency. I would also advise that you speak to your clinic regarding your compression wear, as they will have provided you with the best fit. Wearing a different size to the one provided may also affect your post-operative swelling.
