Dear T25252525,Thank you for posting this question. The short answer is yes. About 50% of the follicles transplanted will shed their hairs due to the stress placed on them during the hair transplantation process. These follicles re-grow their hairs starting at roughly 3-4 months after surgery, and slowly fill in over months, and the final results from a hair transplant procedure are seen 10-12 months following surgery.I hope this information is helpful to you.
You may see new hairs growing at about 3 to 4 months after surgery. Sometimes it may take longer - up to one year.
This may be the time you would notice new hair growth. You may also see some irritation or small pimples as well.Dr John Frank, MDNew YorkOhio
Post op hair growth varies from patient to patient. However, on average patients will begin to see hair growth around four to six months after undergoing a hair transplant surgery. Hair growth is a slow process, but if you continue to have concerns I would suggest to visit your surgeon to obtain some peace of mind. I hope this informations helps.
4 months is a time that most people see some growth. That should be in the form of small hair growing on the recipient area. This is not universal and noticing new growth may take anywhere between 2 to 6 months after the procedure. Occasionally patients may even have delay and not show much on month 6. However, everyone should be able to see almost full result at one year mark after hair transplant.
at four months after hair transplant most people start to see a gradual hair growth. It may take up to 18 months for all the hair to grow in.
Hair growth following a hair transplant can start anytime. I have had patient who started growing immediately after the hair transplant and had 2 inch long hair at 4 months, and I have seen growth start 1, 2 3 or 4 months following the hair transplant. Now you just have to wait it out. Four months is not unusual.
Hair transplant may be an option for you but you need an exam to confirm this. You can see this from many before after photos.
If you were born with a large forehead, you can consider hair transplant or hair line lowering as an option. You would need an examination to understand if you would be a candidate.
Your hair loss pattern is a Norwood 6. You probably will not get full density of hair after surgery. Your doctor should have told you this and given you realistic expectations.

Your donor hair will not grow back from where it was taken. Think about hair transplant surgery as moving hair follicles from one location to another.
Thank you for your question. You can still undergo a hairline lowering procedure. I would recommend that you allow sufficient time for your transplanted hair to heal (~6 months to a year). I would also visit with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options in...
