Ideal candidates are at a stable weight, in good health , and have excess fat in some parts of the body and too little in other regions. Gaining weight before the procedure is to no advantage and when you lose weight again the fat cells will shrink just like the donor site fat cells. Typically, the transferred fat results in a significant increase in volume of the body site being treated.
In most cases of weight gain, the buttocks and other areas with stored fat will become larger. About 50% of the fat that is transferred lives and becomes a part of you. This will hold stable as long as there is no weight fluctuation. The fat will not move, but gains in weight will distribute differently. The fat that lives in the buttocks from the procedure will get larger with weight gain and smaller with weight loss.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
When you gain weight after a BBL the new fat cells in your buttocks will increase in size. If you lose weight, they will decrease in size. When considering anybody contouring procedure, such as a BBL, it's important to make sure that you are at a long-term stable weight with no plans for a dramatic increase or decrease.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question. If you gain to much weight the results might be ruin, but it'll depend on how much fat you gain, and how your body assimilates it. All patients are different. so it's unpredictable to know how it's going to be the change.Hope this could help and good luck :)
BBL consists of transferring fat to your buttocks. The majority of that fat will survive and again become part of your body. That fat can grow if you gain weight, and can shrink if you lose weight. In general, you will not lose your entire result by gaining some weight, but you will lose some definition of your buttocks because you will gain weight in your hip and flank area too. It is definitely best to maintain a sable weight if possible after this procedure. Your results will be long lasting.
It is important to have a stable weight for this procedure, The fat cells transferred to the buttocks will live normally and you will gain weight the transferred fat cells will increase in size and if you loose weight they will decrease.in some cases we may advice the patients to gain weight after this procedure especially when the amount of the transferred fat is not important.
In general, I would advise my patients to maintain a reasonable, healthy, weight with a normal BMI, both before and after any cosmetic surgery, including a Brazilian Butt Lift. However, if one gains a moderate amount of weight after a BBL, in most cases, this won't harm the results. Since much of the subcutaneous fat had been transferred to the buttocks, the added increase in fat volume from weight gain, may further enhance the buttock. Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
You should wait at least 2 weeks before sitting without a support cushion and sleeping on your back. Sitting with no support too soon can harm the newly moved fat cells.
Its good that you have a vision of what you want. It simply needs to be communicated to your plastic surgeon. Bring examples of what you think looks good to your consultation, and be available for digital imaging of pics of you so you can get a good sense of the proposed direction of change...
The "top-heavy" buttocks look often occurs after pressure was prematurely placed on the buttocks. Premature pressure is any pressure placed on the buttocks (sitting or laying) within the first six weeks after BBL surgery. This includes immediately after BBL surgery in the recovery room when ...
