Hi. I’m just curious to get a few extra opinions on use of impression on arms after lipo to that area. I had stomach and arms done and the doctor gave me a compression garment and foam fir the stomach but said he didn’t have anything fir the arms. I’m one week out and my stomach looks great, not much swelling or bruising but my arms feel like sausages about to pop and they are purple from bruises. Is this going to affect my final result in the arms?
Answer: Liposuction to Arms Typically any area where liposuction is performed should have some sort of compression following the procedure. Providing compression to these areas assist with swelling and shaping the area. The compression garment controls postoperative swelling which is likely the reason why your arms feel like sausages that are about to pop. Swelling, or tissue edema, results from this helps to minimize the swelling that develops in the first place and helps to speed the reabsorption of the edema fluid that does collect.
