Compression on arms after lipo? My arms feel like sausages about to pop.

Swelling and bruising after liposuction is not unusual. Sounds like you are experiencing quite a bit of swelling and bruising after liposuction to your arms.It's very important that you contact your surgeon to be evaluated immediately. It's hard to tell what's going on and could be something potentially serious.All the best.

Generally some sort of compression is good after liposuction procedure to help prevent what you are describing.  This can be in the form of an ace wrap that is used to wrap from the wrist up wards or a compression sleeve that can be purchased from the local sporting goods store.I would discuss this with your plastic surgeon before you go out and buy/use any compression.Hope that helps.

I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding compression for the arms. I have my patients wear customized compression after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Typically any area where liposuction is performed should have some sort of compression following the procedure. Providing compression to these areas assist with swelling and shaping the area.  The compression garment controls postoperative swelling which is likely the reason why your arms feel like sausages that are about to pop. Swelling, or tissue edema, results from this helps to minimize the swelling that develops in the first place and helps to speed the reabsorption of the edema fluid that does collect.
