An open roof deformity is when there is excessive widening of the nasal bridge after hump removal and failure to perform osteotomies. This skin at the rhinion of your nose the thinnest, so bony irregularities here may occur. Hi there! Thanks for your questions. A open roof deformity occurs when a dorsal hump is removed and the bones are not medialized and smoothed to correct the space left below from removal. It could be that's what has happened in your case. Subtle irregularities on the bridge are possible but should not be overtly obvious. Options include medializing the bones with rasping. Or, a camouflage graft such as temporalis fascia can be placed over the area, though some combination of the two is most ideal. I would revisit with your surgeon if you're comfortable to discuss options. Otherwise, seek consultation with several others. Hope this helps you!
