Daily Oxymetazoline Ophthalmic for minor ptosis - Is oxymetazoline safe or not?

Hi, I previously had an upper blepharoplasty but that eye still has 1-2 mm of droop (acquired ptosis). I had discovered on my own that taking Visine drops corrected the issue, but my plastic surgeon told me that these drops were harmful if used long-term. I learned about a new FDA-approved product "Upneeq" which is the exact same thing, advertised to treat ptosis. What is going on?? Is oxymetazoline safe or not? I would like to avoid surgery if possible as the ptosis is minor.
