Breast implants under muscle keep slipping out of pocket

Question

I had a breast lift with 300cc saline implants placed under the muscle in 12/2023. They were fine initially but by 6 months post-op, the right implant had slipped from its pocket down and toward the armpit. You could see the implant bulging through the skin and the right nipple was significantly higher than the left. My surgeon performed a pocket revision in 9/2024. It’s now 11/2024 and the left implant has slipped from its pocket in the same way. Why is this happening and what’s the solution?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Unfortunate to read about what is going on with your breast implants. Difficult to really assess what is going on without photos and/or a proper exam. But it sounds like you have very soft capsules and perhaps strong pec muscles that are causing your implants to shift laterally over time. Sometimes if the muscle attached is not release enough this may be the cause, in others limiting use of the pec muscle during exercise and weight lifting and also not sleeping on your stomach may help prevent this in the future.

It's difficult to determine what may be occurring without an evaluation and more information.  It could be the size of the implants or skin elasticity.  Continue to work closely with your surgeon to help resolve this issue.

You did not post photos, but I suspect you have little breast tissue, and this implant is too heavy for your tissue. I suggest going smaller and using mesh for support.
