Botox in chin still not gone after 7 months - Is it normal to take this long to go away completely? (photos)

Hello @optimistic1976 Botox effect is not permanent, it takes 3 months approximately for botox effects start disappearing. The effect is progressive, that means when you have botox it will not have a blocking effect the instant the you had it applied or the next day, you start seeing the effects 3 days after the application and the same thing happens when the botox is wearing off. While Botox can effectively decrease chin dimpling and expression, lift the corners of the mouth, or address vertical lip lines, it can also cause unwanted issues when performed by an inexperienced injector. Too high a dosage or injecting it in the wrong location can lead to undesirable results. A common side effect of Botox is when the product migrates to surrounding muscles –this, perhaps, may have caused your lopsided smile. However, Botox results should only last for 3-4 months. If you are still experiencing issues after that, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with extensive experience with injectables. Your surgeon can assess your skin and facial profile, recommend the best treatment plan, and ensure the best possible results.

The results from Botox are not permanent and typically will fade gradually over three to four months. Patients usually do not begin to see effects from the injection for about 4-5 days, with final results seen after 14 days. I encourage you to visit with your injector for an evaluation.

Hello, and thanks for your question. Although botox generally wears off in 4-6 months in most people, botox can last a long time in some people, even up to a year. Botox is not known to change your facial dynamics permanently. Keep an eye on it and if it still hasn't gone away after another 6 months, go back to your surgeon and see what your options are. It is always best to see you face to face for a consult and examination however in this case it should not last longer than around the 7 month mark plus if it was only 2 units it should have gone much quicker. It would be best to revisit your injector and discuss this with them so they can see you with animated movement. I hope that helps answer your question.
