Chin issues Side profile - can my issue be fixed with Botox? (photos)

Hi, I am a young college student (female) who is pretty happy with my appearance. However, I hate my side profile, I feel like my chin and mouth look so odd when I smile and I feel deeply saddened when I look at side-profile pics. I am not a big fan of filler and implants and I was wondering if my issue could be fixed with botox?

Hello, and thank you for your question. While a proper evaluation of your profile is necessary, as well as a clearer grasp of your specific aesthetic goals, Botox can be used to enhance your jawline. Botox can be injected into the masseter muscle to help it relax and create a softer jawline. However, a good facial plastic surgeon should be able to successfully use dermal fillers to strengthen the chin and contour the jawline too. To better understand how you can benefit from these procedures, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Your surgeon can do a proper evaluation of your facial profile, recommend the best treatment plan, and ensure the best possible outcome.

For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Hi, thank you for submitting the photos, Botox is a neurotoxin which is primarily used to relax the muscles to decrease the appearance of wrinkles . It is usually used in upper face with some exceptions for lower face. I don't think your concern will be completely resolved with Botox. My advice will be to consider some form of HA fillers. Botox may soften the appearance of your side profile.  Be sure to see an experienced injector for this treatment as you want to maintain a natural smile.  Fillers may also be an option for jawline sculpting.

You appear to be a candidate for chin and DAO (Depressor Anguli Oris muscle).  Placing the Botox and adjusting the injections over time should greatly change the side appearance.
