Botox on side of nose next to eye - is this area a danger zone?

Question

Hi all, I am 28 and have a few lines that bother me.They are horizontal on the left side of my nose, and look like bunny lines but are pretty high up on the height of the lacrimal caruncle. I wanted to get two injections in the middle of the procerus like normal and two each side of my nose at the height of the lacrimal caruncle. Just was curious if this area is a danger zone? As I read from different article that wrong injection there can cause ptosis, or is that wrong? Thanks in advance!

Hello @ninaK thank you for your question. A lot of times here around the nose when we contract the muscles we make rabbit-like lines, they are produced by muscle contraction and that what's Butolinum toxin is for. However, is important that you have the procedure with a board certified specialist, correct application is key. Best wishes

Hello, I am glad you are cautious about your cosmetic procedures. 
 I am very familiar with those lines you are describing. I treat patients all the time with Botox to that area. That particular area is not as risky as is treating the forehead or frown lines (possibility of ptosis is much higher in the other areas). I have injected botox for almost 8 years and have never encounter a case of ptosis from nasalis or "bunny lines". Each case is different, and we have to proceed with caution but, the chances are very low in that area. Each area has its potential side effects. Make sure you address your concerns with your provider before your treatment, but I hope this gives you an idea.
