Hi, making a small dose of botox injection for the lower eyelid muscle can be the solution. When you smile your muscles contracts, but after botox the muscles can't contract so much. This will make your eyes larger when smiling.

How common is ptosis from contact lenses?

Wearing contact lenses can cause ptosis. And this is true for both hard and soft contacts. The pulling of the upper eyelid to place and remove the contact lenses might be the cause of this issue.
