Procedure: High SMAS Facelift with Buccal Fat Removal and Submentoplasty 57-yr old female. From the Op Rpt: Incision on chin skin. Skin flaps elevated off plat muscle laterally. Fat removed by direct excision in neck and minimal subplat fat removed. Next plat edges up to level of hyoid with interrupted 3-0 PDS sutures. My PS has me going in for skin tightening treatments, but they are not working. Would appreciate input and ideas.

Than you for your question. For the most part the majority of the patient don’t have scabs after the second week, but if the are scabs I prefer not apply anything on them before the second week after I would consider light petrolatum twice a day.
Thank you for your question. I am not a fan for injections of steroid. I would ask your surgeon for a surgical revision instead I believe that the success is higher and more reliable that injections.
The pain behind the right ear does not seem to be associated with infection and is more likely to be related to some of the dissolvable stitches that are holding the tension. It is most likely to settle on its own.
