My post-op instructions: clean incisions w/ soap & water. Sutures out day 7. Incisions behind ears and in front of one ear still stuck in the scabbed. I’d like to put petroleum jelly or antibiotic cream on them, to help the scabs fall off. No signs of infection but I’m short haired & at 3 weeks post-op, scabs are a dead giveaway. What is the thinking on post-op incision care? Are scabs on scars at 3 weeks normal? Harm to put ointment on them?
