How to resolve inflammation on entry points of PDO threads?

Question

I’ve had 3 mint PDO threads on each side of my face about a month ago. I hated it in many ways but the worse is that the “end” of the threads on one side (which I was told is where the 3 threads were tied together), just below the injection point on my temples, is very sore. I was told it’s an inflammatory reaction. I can also feel it under the skin, as if it was a tiny ball poking through the skin. Does this sound familiar? Any thoughts on how to resolve? I can’t capture it on photo unfortunately.

PDO threads are designed to dissolve away after 4-6 months so unless there is a sign of infection or scar formation, the best thing to do would be to leave it alone. If the threads were tied together, you are probably feeling the knot which should also dissolve away in time. As a last resort, the threads can be removed but I don't recommend it unless the ball is visible through the skin and you cannot wait for it to go away on it's own.

This  is a side effect that is seen occasionally. One must confirm that the thread does not protrude from the insertion site. The next step would be to use an injection of cortisone and massage for 2 weeks. It sometimes takes four to six weeks for the irritation to resolve.
