Can infection happen after pdo facelift ?

6 weeks post pdo thredlift i have a painful lump . Could it be an infektion ? Will antiinflammatory drugs or antibiotics help ? My surgeon has not been helpful at all and Im worried

Yes, the PDO threads can get infected. This complication is rare but  totally treatable. I suggest that you see the physician who performed the procedure.

Yes an infection can occur at any time although 6 weeks post procedure it's more unlikely. You should always have your provider exam it in person, but the lump could be an infection, nodule, a dislodged thread, or something else.

Typically a painful lump after a PDO Thread Lift is caused by the thread buckling or curling under the skin. There are two ways to get rid of the lump. One way is to do a subcision treatment which releases the thread from the skin and allows it to unwind. Another option is to make a small stab incision to remove the thread completely and replace it at a later time. There is always a small possibility of infection particularly if the lump is warm, red or fluctuant.
