This procedure is less often performed and most Plastic/facial Plastic surgeons have a more limited exposure to this procedure.As you look for the right surgeon, make sure you know enough about the topic to ask the right questions. Make sure your surgeon is Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Have consultation with more than one doctor so you can make an educated decision.

Chin implants are manufactured in a variety of sizes and shapes, are composed of Silastic, and are inserted through submental approach under local anesthesia. Picking the right size is best determined at the time of consultation and examination, since the chin is a three-dimensional structure.  Look for a surgeon who has performed lots of chin implants  and has devoted a significant portion of their practice  to facial cosmetic surgery
