Hi, I'm 21 years old & I had liposuction on my back stomach and sides 16 weeks ago and it looks terrible. :( I'm not sure what these hard "lines" are on both my right and left sides? My stomach looks weird like there's a bunch Of lines and indents. I should also mention that they are MUCH more noticeable when I pull my skin taught (see pics) My question is what are these lumps/lines? Am I doomed at this point and stuck with a botched stomach, or is there hope that it's not too late to fix it?
Answer: There is hope. I am not as pessimistic as your other answers. The lines probably are not cannula marks as others have suggested. More likely induration and those are the lines of pull, given their location and direction. Look into anti-inflammatory treatments and soft tissue treatments. I believe it can get a lot better.

Answer: Post Liposuction Irregularities, Swelling -- Try Massage, Velashape or Venus Legacy, Z Wave you need aggressive post procedural massage, radiofrequency and Z Wave. If there is no improvement after 4-8 weeks of treatments, you should consider seeing a revision specialist. Although this may resolve at 6-12 months. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Contour irregularities due to fibrosis after laser assisted liposuction. I don't know this but I would guess you had laser or ultrasonically assisted liposuction. The thermal damage from these modalities can cause the long term fibrosis in contour irregularities shown in the picture.

Answer: Unfortunate outcome after liposuction At 16 weeks your results are permanent or close to permanence.Do not expect any significant change without further intervention. The results you show on the pictures appear to represent poorly performed or unevenly performed aggressive liposuction.I often see these type of results from inexperienced practitioners using VASER. Or ultrasound assisted liposuction. The streaks often represent the practitioners feeding the liposuction cannula back-and-forth in the same position. This is a big no-no in liposuction. One should never leave the cannula in the same area for any significant amount of time and each area should ideally be covered from multiple angles.Poor outcomes from liposuction can be difficult at times not possible to correct. This is especially true when the treatments are done in an aggressive fashion.Options to correct this include revision liposuction or fat transfer or a combination of both.Revision liposuction is based on removing residual fat on the high areas while fat transfer is based on grafting fat in the low areas.when there is sufficient fat left, revision liposuction can be successful and give great outcomes. When the primary treatment was done aggressively and there is little fat left to work with then both rivage in liposuction and fat transfer become less viable options.

Answer: Lumps Thank you for the photos and question and sorry for your complication. That said the lines appear to be related to the technique used and though they may resolve on their own may require some type of non invasive massage therapy to improve the result. So discuss this with your surgeon or other expert in the area.Dr. Corbin
