I am trying home IPL treatment and my hair is growing significantly after one week already about 20% reduction in overall hair
Answer: Treating Hair with Home treatments Home IPL Treatments used to hair removal are not as effective as professional lasers meant to permanently affect hair regrowth. Optimal laser treatments are spaced on specific intervals depending on the area of the body treated. In this case, treating again will not offer any better outcome

Answer: Laser Hair Removal Sessions In general, home devices that are used to reduce hair are not as effective as professional lasers meant to permanently affect hair regrowth. The sessions are scheduled at designated time intervals in order to treat hair in its actively growing phase. So to answer the question--- NO! More frequent sessions more often in this case, would not speed up the process . A consultation in a practice with Board Certified physicians is advisable.

Answer: IPL Hair removal treatments The hair needs to be present for hair removal to work. That means that it is best to wait for the hair cycle to renew. Each hair area takes different time and I suggest that you cotact your doctor for bet schedule.

Answer: Weekly hair removal treatments Each hair removal treatment only affects the hairs which are actively growing. Then you need to wait for several weeks for the hair which was in a dormant phase of the growth cycle to move into the actively growing phase. So doing more frequent treatments will not speed up the hair removal process.

Answer: Hair removal The main thing to consider before you start your treatments is to have a consult with a reputable dermatologist/facial/plastic surgeon. My practice has been considered by Lumenis lasers to be a Lumenis laser center of excellence and I have been a "Luminary" (Lumenis physician teacher) for the last 10 years. Not many physicians have these recognitions. I also help develop and teach my own Rosacea and Melasma protocols for the Lumenis IPL systems to other physicians and technicians.Hair removal by IPL or any other laser is generally performed at 6 weeks intervals because that is the hair growth cycle. There will be no benefit of another treatment sooner that 6 weeks in theory. Home IPL treatments are low energy and therefore they produce very little if no improvement. I recommend seeking the advice and treatment of a professional hair removal clinic.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
