Hi emmaye,Emsculpt is contraindicated in patients with metal implants because they may heat from the electromagnetic energy and cause a burn. If your IUD is completely plastic then it would be safe. I would not treat you if there is silver. We have had patients who had their IUD's removed prior to their Emsculpt treatment. In that case, unless your looking to have kids, use an alternative method of birth controll. Good luck and be well.Dr. P Encino, CA
The Skyla IUD is not metal, therefore EMSculpt should be safe. The Paragard IUD does contain copper and would not be safe.
Thank you for your question. I advise against doing an Emsculpt treatment with an IUD. For more information please make sure you get a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.
EMSculpt defines and sculpts. It does this by utilizing magnetic stimulation to cause muscular super contractions. It would not be an issue if you don't have any metal plates or implants in those areas. I would still confirm with your doctor to make sure.
I would recommend either of the following 3 non-surgical options either alone or in combination: Secret RF (Microneedling with radiofrequency), Ultherapy, and PDO threads. Make sure you are getting treatment from a board-certified physician or other experienced health care professional.
EMsculpt is safe as long as you don't have any metal implants or devices. It will contract your muscles for you leaving you with the results of a workout. You can speak with your doctor to confirm that you are good to go for the procedure, but this should be fine!
