Bellafill is a reasonable option for this type of scar. Ideally you would also consider Mixto fraction o2 resurfacing. Remember that Bellafill is half bovine Collagen and needs a skin test at least 2 weeks before the treatment.
Hi and thank you for your question! Based on the picture you might be a candidate for scar treatment with Bellafill, although I always try to underscore that the goal in most cosmetic treatments is "improvement" over the baseline rather than complete removal of the issue. As they say, more experienced doctors always try to under-promise and over-deliver! In cases like you, although the scarring appears to be more localized, you may still see some benefits with combing Bellafill with a few sessions of Fractional CO2 laser treatment. I hope it helps and good luck!
Thank you for your question. Bellafill is an injection into the cheeks or nasolabial folds to smooth away smile lines and other facial wrinkles by restoring volume to rejuvenate the face. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine your candidacy.Best wishes,
This type of scar requires a combination approach and may need a series of treatments to get improvement. Co2 laser resurfacing would be the best first step with subcision and fillers. See a facial scarring expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
It is possible that Bellafill could help to improve an indented scar, but the amount of improvement can depend on the characteristics of the scar. There are some other treatments that could potentially help as well, such as radio frequency micro needling. An examination is usually needed to determine which treatments might be most helpful.
I never say complete removal of a scar but Bellafill with improve the appearance of the scar. It is depressed and can be elevated with Bellafill. I would also consider using a vascular laser such as Excel V and possibly laser resurfacing and/or Infini.
Hi,Thanks for the question.I don't think Bellafill will do a great job for that area and regardless for sure it will not "completely" remove it. Please see a dermatologist and see if you are a candidate for laser, based on his/her exam. Thanks for the question again.
I do think Bellafill would be an excellent choice in terms of filling in your scar and improving the contour of that area. In your situation, it should be injected somewhat deeper, which may in fact help to release the tethering of the scar. Bellafill in this area should be long-lasting (3-5 years) because the injection is deep against vascularized tissue, and the area is relatively immobile. Bellafill also helps stimulate collagen production, so you may see added benefit over the course of 8-10 weeks after the injection. This is different than other fillers made of hyaluronic acid that do not stimulate collagen and do not increase in fill over time. The Bellafill won't change the color of the scar, and like other doctors suggested, laser treatments can help improve the scar pigmentation.
I think that Bellafill could help with this scar with some pending factors. You may need a combination of fillers, lasers, microneedling, and topical skin care to help this scar. At the very least, and immediately you should use a sunscreen and prescription strength retin-a. I would find a Board Certified Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon, or Medical Spa to consult a treatment plan.
Bellafill for filling any area of volume loss can be a great treatment option. In your case however, I am not sure that you have volume loss. This scar appears to be the result of trauma and may just be tethered to the underlying tissue much like a quilting deformity. I would recommend that you try subcision first. I suspect that your scar will pop up and flatten down with that technique and you will not need any filler at all.I hope that helps.Best regards.
Filler migration and granuloma formation can cause longterm problems with Bellafill and Artefill fillers. This is similar in patients who have Artecoll and PMMA fillers. Longterm filler complications include migration, edema, chronic swelling, and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or...
You have discovered a fact about the beauty industry in general that is disturbing to many of us who are honestly trying to help people. The industry is like the Wild West and anything goes. I have written a few blogs about this. When it comes to Bellafill, here are the FDA study results. Yo...
Bellafill is not recommended for lips. It will likely lead to nodules which will be difficult to treat. Even along the borders is not a good idea. Any area with concentric muscles - eyes, mouth - can lead to nodularity. Most of the complications of Bellafill are from injecting in these areas.
