I am 35, 5’7”, 135, lbs. I have 5 kids who I breastfed for 1-2 years each. My breast width (foot print) is 11.5. My dr recommended 350cc mod profile. I decided I want to go a little bigger and choose 415cc hp. I had went to many consultations before I choose my dr and they all told me that 500 and up would be appropriate for my body. I feel confused with sizing. I wonder why my dr choose so small, why the other drs choose so big and is my final choice of 415 going to be a good one?
Answer: Is 415cc HP the right size for me? Hello, thank you for your question. Your board certified plastic surgeon will be able to guide you to the correct size implant measurements and desires measurements of the chest wall and breast imprint width as well as knowledge of all breast implant sizes and profiles should make this process easy. Try on a profile bra with various silicone cc sizers your PS recommends under a tailored blouse, tank top, bikini, workout clothes, and other garments you typically wear so that you have the best idea of whether the garments fit as desired with the implant selected. Select the size that boosts your self-esteem, and fits your anatomy. Choosing an implant based on an aesthetic goal that exceeds your anatomic capacity may lead to complications and possibly revision

Answer: Breast augmentation Dear Neat781964,Thank you for your pictures. As I have not examined you, I cannot comment upon your situation. Sounds like you have Dr. A saying one thing and then Dr. B saying something else. I do not know what Dr's C, D etc provided you regarding this decision. While RealSelf is a great pathway for information, education, it not the pathway to help you make a decision. The key component is communication and trust with the surgeon you select. It's not just the size of your implant. For example, a good deal depends upon the location of the breast implant - sub glandular vs. sub muscular. Perhaps you may need to have additional consultations so you feel comfortable with the surgeon you select.Sincerely,Michael Kulick MDSan Francisco, Ca

Answer: Sizing Issues Proper sizing requires two considerations: the first is your anatomic capacity, a red line that shouldn't be crossed to prevent excessive risk of complications and reoperations. There is a well documented objective correlation between a few measurements made on the chest and maximum capacity. Everyone talks about breast width, but that only reveals part of the picture. Nipple to fold distance on stretch is just as important. The second consideration is your aesthetic goal. After 20 years of practice, I feel there is no better way than using in office sizers, a sports bra, and few of your favorite tops to see how you would like to look after your surgery and what size is required to achieve that look.

Answer: Implant size and type Dear Neat781964, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Size Selection Good morning! Not being able to measure you myself, just on instinct I believe the 415cc HP would likely be a good choice. Ask your PS why they want to go 350- there must be a reason? Or maybe that's just their personal preference? And if they are giving you such contradictory advice, and advice you don't want, why did you choose them as your surgeon?
