I'm 5 ft and 112lbs. Is 200cc breast implant too small?

I'm going in for a breast lift and silicone put in . I explain to the dr I do not want to be top heavy . I am 5 ft and weigh 112. Before I had kids and breast fed I was a 34C . The dr said I have a good amount of breast tissue and getting 200cc silicone . Should I do 225cc? Everyone is telling me 200cc is too small

I am sure you have tried sizers on your consultation and if it's a matter between 200 cc vs 225 cc you will not see significant difference as they are only within 10% of each other.  The implant will help shape the breast mound and give you a nice shape. When in doubt try the sizers again because most common reason for revision is for size.

25cc is about a sip of coca cola so I wouldnt worry about the difference, the smaller the implant is usually the better choice in my opinion because the implant is going to be pushing on the incision so the bigger the weight the bigger the force and the more your tissues will stretch

Choosing the size of your breast implants can be difficult. You should work closely with your board certified plastic surgeon about this. The correct size depends on a lot of things - even more than just want you want. It depends on skin quality, chest dimensions, body shape, etc.  For example, I often see my breast aug patients several times before surgery, just to select the best implant size. 200cc may be right for you, it depends.

Hi,The difference between a 200 and a 225 is only 5 teaspoons (5 cc per teaspoon, an ounce is 30 cc).  So just ask your surgeon if he or she would be willing to jump up 25 cc, then it seems you will feel better about it. 200cc's may not be too small. You will see several patients with breast implants 200 cc's or smaller.  By using biodimensional planning, your plastic surgeon should be able to determine a size that is ideal for you. The plastic surgeon must also have expertise in creating the ideal pocket in the ideal position in order for the results to look natural. If measurements are carefully taken during patient consultation, one can determine an ideal base diameter given a patients starting breast shape and starting chest wall width. If the base diameter is inadequate, then implants appear too far apart on the breasts, sort of lonely and separate, and it is truly an underwhelming and aesthetically unfavorable cosmetic surgery result. Look at many, many before and after images to see if your plastic surgeon shares your aesthetic sensibilities.

Many factors play in : your breast tissue volume/size, the quality of the skin and tissue, the degree of deflation of the overall breast, and your personal expectations for size and shape. These are key components that you and your surgeon arrive at together and then the proper implant and lift are selected. With your small petite frame and reasonable breasts i presume - this could be an excellent choice that would give a balanced aesthetic breast better apt to stay that way over the years.  If a little difference of 25ccs would ally some questioning and worry on you side - well then 200 and 225 is minimal - step up to that and feel confident you will have a great result :)

Thank-you for your question. Selecting the correct implant size is among the most important decisions in a successful breast augmentation procedure. Placement of the identical implant will not produce the same results in all patients due to differences in:1.Dimentions of the breast 2.Diameter of the chest 3.Volume of breast tissue 4. Height and weight 5. Breast shape, including breast ptosis and asymmetryI rely on 3 methods to advise my patients: 1. Dimensional planning 2. Gel implant sizing 3. 3-Dimensional Vectra imageing system. At the time of consultation, measurements are taken allowing for dimensional planning to select the implant which best fits the base diameter of the breast. Gel implant sizing is performed to allow you to visualize augmentation the with the various sized implants. There is virtually very little difference from one implant 200cc to the other 225cc.  With that said, an augmentation masopexy is one of the most difficult procedures for a plastic surgeon to do.  This procedure is one where non-MDs appreciate little as to how difficult this procedure can be and the comprehensive nature of all considerations that must take place for this to be successful.

It depends on what you are looking for out of the implant.  If you are placing the implant to help achieve upper pole fullness, this may well be too small - if it is just for size - it will be equivalent to about a cup size.

Dimensional planning2. Gel Implant Sizing systemDimensional planning – The measurements of your chest wall are taken. Also, the breast dimensions including the height, width, and current dimensions of each breast form the basis of dimensional planning. Based on these measurements, the implant size is recommended. This will give you a unique breast implant that is suited for your body frame. However, there are some limitations of what size we can recommend. For instance, some implants may just be too big for a narrow chest wall. Your surgeon can review this with you during the consultation.Gel Implant Sizing system – During the preliminary breast implant consultation, you will be provided with an option to “try on” a variety of implant shapes and sizes. You can also visualize the possible outcomes of your surgery which helps you to get that perfect size to give you the shape that you longed for.
