I had Coolsculpting last year on my bra fat/flanks. Unfortunately I am now left with huge bulges on the treated areas. They didn’t get smaller. I have heard that regular lipo doesn’t work. Will vaser help?
Answer: Will Vaser fix botched Coolsculpting? Thank you for your question and photos. Coolsculpting did not "botch" you. You developed an un-welcome side effect of the procedure called paroxysmal adipose hyperplasia (PAH). This is becoming a more frequently recognized side effect of Coolsculpting as many more thousands of people do these treatments to avoid surgery. The other side effect is no improvement at all even after multiple treatments. As a plastic surgeon who specializes in advanced body sculpting techniques, Coolsculpting patients are the hardest to correct and get a good result. There's tremendous internal scarring from the freezing procedure which causes non-specific mass fat necrosis. Personally, I could not improve these patients without using the VASER technique combined with the PAL (power assist liposuction). Renuvion skin tightening might need to be done as well. Suggesting unreasonable low fees for correction of a difficult problem, on this site might be misleading. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques and who are familiar with correcting these challenging cases. Good luck.

Answer: General Assessments and Recommendations Hello; through procedures such as cool sculpting; both subcutaneous vascularization; it also increases for the thickness of the dermis. Therefore, after cool sculpting, Liposuction; becomes bloodier than usual and since the connective tissue increases; is done more difficult way. Addition for these, since the dermis thickness also raises; after liposuction procedure, there is a problem for tightening the skin. Such an individual like you; in order to get the structure better and homogeneously; Vaserlipo treatment is applied for tightening the skin and prevent it from sagging. Thus, I recommend for Renuvion J Plasma technique.

Answer: Vaser liposuction Coolsculpting can result in firmer fat deposits or paradoxical adiposite hyperplasia (PAH). This fat is hard to remove and VASER can be effective.

Answer: PAH could be improved with VASER Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH) from cool sculpting may be what you're experiencing. We've treated cases like this with Vaser liposuction (link below) demonstrating promising results. However keep in mind, this fat does not act like virgin/non treated areas and may be more prone to deformities and fibrosis therefore post-operative compression and massage is advocated.

Answer: Revision VASER lipo CoolSculpting complications PAH CoolSculpting results back rolls after CoolSculpting Treatment VASER lipo Hi Niknel, thank you for your question regarding whether VASER will fix botched CoolSculpting. Thank you for your history and your pictures. First, it is important to have a consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon. Based on limited information, I would suggest you initially start with VASER liposuction. VASER can help to break up scar tissue and remove any residual fat. It is difficult to say whether these back rolls are due to excess back skin, excess back fat, normal back scar tissue or hard scar tissue that developed after CoolSculpting. There is a very known complication of CoolSculpting called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. This is the development of excess scar tissue in areas that have undergone CoolSculpting. Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia is perhaps what Linda Evangelista developed after her CoolSculpting. Treatment for paradoxical adipose hyperplasia is removal of the scar tissue. In these areas you depict in your pictures, I would initially use VASER. If you do not get the results you want, you may need an open incision. The incision would go over these rolls to eliminate the excess back skin and underlying back scar and possibly, back fat. Therefore, my final answer is definitely go with the VASER first; you may need one or two treatments. If the VASER does not work, you may need an incision across the back. Thank you for your question regarding will VASER fix botched CoolSculpting. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen
