I had a Vi Peel about 5 days ago. It seemed to peel very well initially but now the delicate skin around my eyes feels very tight and leathery. My practitioner applied the peel all the way under my eyes just avoiding contact with my eyes directly. Wasn't sure if that was normal or not or if the eye area should typically be avoided with this peel. It just feels like pulling and I want to know if its too early to judge the results and if I should be optimistic about this healing.

Hello Paintingsinlittle,
No need to worry. What you are experiencing is very common. After a peel the skin will appear worse before it gets better. Just be patient, let the skin peel with out picking, wear your sunscreen and enjoy your results.
Best to you!
It does look to me as if you had a superficial injury from the peel. I would return to the person who performed the peel and have them assess this wound. You may need a combination of a topical corticosteroid, vaseline, a lightening agent, and a heal light to expedite healing of this lesion. ...
Thank you for your question. always discuss with your healthcare provider the use of Rx treatments but typically it is advised to wait 2 weeks after the vi peel to resume the use of retin-a.
