I just finished a VI peel--would this be a good time to start Retin-A, since I've already had a week long peel and purge?

I've been putting off starting retin a for my hormonal acne because the last time I was on it, I had breakouts and dry skin for . The retin a did work on my acne but I went off it a year later due to dryness. I regret doing so!

A Vi peel is a great chemical peel to improve the pigmentation and quality of skin.  Retin-A is a wonderful topical medication to improve many aspect of the facial skin.  It can be safely restarted after full healing after a Vi peel.  I typically wait for 2 weeks after a peel to restart Retin-A.I hope this helps.

thank you for your question. always discuss with your healthcare provider the use of Rx treatments but typically it is advised to wait 2 weeks after the vi peel to resume the use of retin-a.

Thank you for your question. In my opinion, topical medications, such as Retin-A, can be restarted once the peeling and redness has resolved from the chemical peel. I highly recommend you consult with the provider who performed the peel or the physician that prescribed your Retin-A. Take care and good luck.
