Is it normal to loose energy on 1 arm after a breast augmentation? What can I do?

One week after having any surgery you will have depleted energy.  In the case of Breast Augmentation, nerve pain or weakness in the arms is from the way the patient is positioned during surgery. In some cases the patient will have discomfort in the lower back area as well.  This will gradually dissipate over the next week or so. With all this bring said, make sure you bring this issues to your surgeon's attention as he will need to evaluate you in person.All the best to you. 

Hi San12345,Thanks for your question, but I am sorry you are having this difficulty after your procedure!  Weakness or loss of sensation in the arm after breast augmentation is not the norm-- see your plastic surgeon immediately.  This may be due to stretching of a nerve during the surgery, and in that case would most likely recover-- but no one can tell you this for sure, you need an exam from your operating surgeon.  Best wishes for a quick recovery!--Erik Hoy, M.D.

If by losing energy you mean losing strength in the arm, this could be a sign of temporary nerve weakness. There are multiple potential causes and most are temporary and self-limited, but you should be examined right away. Contact your surgeons office asap. Best of luck.
