Is there a chance that my surgeon could return my deposit after I cancelled my BA surgery?

I scheduled my BA ... But cancelled due to the fact that I felt 80% comfortable with my surgeon but not 100% comfortable. He I put down a deposit. Is there a chance that my surgeon could return my deposit? I cancelled two days after scheduling giving my deposit.

Every surgeon has a different policy regarding return of deposit.  It depends on whatever is in the contract or consent.  Personally, I never keep a deposit and don't pressure people to give one.  If a patient changes their mind about surgery, I give them their money back.  Then again,  I like to trat patients the way I would like to be treated.  If you ask the surgeon nicely, without threats, you have a good chance of getting your deposit back.  Good luck!

It's worth asking your plastic surgeon. If your surgery is weeks away or you have a chosen to not proceed with the surgery for reasons other than finding a lower price somewhere you have a good chance it will be refunded. In general plastic surgeons don't want to be malignant and make a patient angry over a few hundred dollars.

In my practice, I would refund the deposit if the surgery is at least two weeks away, but every surgeon has his or her own policy. You should definitely call the office and ask for a refund, since it doesn't hurt to ask!

Every office has its own cancellation policy, so it would be best to contact your surgeon and explain your circumstances. Im sure they would want you to be absolutely certain you are going to do your surgery with a Doctor you are comfortable with.

do not have to be refunded BUT if your surgery was weeks away, most surgeons would refund you since they can fill the slot with someone else.  But not all surgeons subscribe to this way of thinking and will keep the money.  I like to think they need it more than you do in such situations due to the obvious lack of understanding as such policies are designed to prevent someone from cancelling at the last minute, leaving the surgeon with nothing to do.  If your surgeon won't refund, you can either see if you can become 100% happy (but you're starting on the wrong foot) or you can vent on social media, sticking to the facts and learn that you don't put down nonrefundable deposits until you are sure.

Thanks for your question. The policy for returning deposits is different for each surgeon. I recommend to ask to your surgeon or to his/her office staff to give all the information about it .Some of the time they have good will and return it. Best wishes !!
