I just received temporary veneers and they look wide and are bulky. I’m concerned that the final outcome will be the same?

In MY office, we use the prototype (temporary) smile as a guide to the final smile.  If you like the look of the prototype, then you will like the final.  Not ALL dentists do smiles the same way, and some simply make a temporary smile so you have something in your mouth while the final restorations are created.The ONLY person that needs to be satisfied/happy with the appearance is YOU, the patient.  If YOU like the smile, great.  If you DON'T like the smile, then work out what you don't like before final delivery.  The "key" is knowing what is "right".  There are certain dimensions/proportions that are "ideal" and sometimes the change is drastic, considering the starting point.  If can take some getting used to.

Typically, the temporary veneers are fabricated from a mock up of what the final product will look like. Odds are the final result will be similar to the temporaries. Definitely voice your concerns now before the permanent veneers are fabricated and cemented. Request that the permanent veneers be temporarily cemented for a couple of weeks so you can try them out and show your family and get their opinions before permanently cementing.
