Should veneers or dental implants be done first? (Photo)

I have done it both ways and every case is different.  Consult with a cosmetic dentist and they will be able to give you the proper sequence for you to have the most ideal result.  Good luck.  

It can be done either way depending on your case. If missing back teeth affects your bite, you would probably want to correct that before addressing esthetics. If your bite is fine with the missing back teeth, you should be fine to proceed with veneers. 

Each case is different, but the correct way is always to have a cosmetic dentist plan your final smile by what is called Diagnostic wax up or digital diagnostic smile design so that we know in what exact positions the implants must go to support the future restoration. That way you could have have your implants or veneers in any time sequence you prefer.

Sequence of dental treatment is to evaluate your bite (occlusion) to decide if braces or Invisalign is needed for an ideal bite. If there is an issue with your bite it could cause failure of veneers on the front teeth. Once braces is evaluated and treatment completed, would consider implants and then veneers. If your bite is ideal then implants and then crown. Once an implant is placed, it cannot be moved so it is important to evaluate the entire mouth before placement. Hope that helps.
