It is difficult to make recommendations from the single photo. Photos from multiple standard views would allow for analysis.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
"Angular" face and nose two separate issues. Discussion in person is best approach so treating surgeon clearly understands what you dislike, what you want, and can evaluate all features three dimensionally, including their relationship to one another. Proceed with care; Whatever is done must promise improvement.
I need to see a full set of photographs to give you a proper answer to your question. What I can tell you is that your bulbous tip can be refined but should be accompanied with grafts to prevent a pinch tip etc. See a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does natural looking noses to avoid an overdone operated look.
Followingthe advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell youexactly what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussingthe pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your bestinterest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the AmericanBoard of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society forAesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. Youshould discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California
It is hard to give you advice based on this particular photo. You are correct, in that angular faces are not necessarily a feminine trait. Women are more feminine and beautiful with soft, subtle facial features. You can use fillers or implants to shape the face. As for your nose, it can be reduced and refined very naturally to fit your features. Please post better photos or e-mail photos for more specific evaluation.
Dear BannermkrIn general, I recommend gentle activity (including walking) at 2 weeks after rhinoplasty. Two issues often arise. one is sun exposure. If you walk outdoors, wear hat/baseball cap and apply sunscreen every hour. The other issue is breathing through your nose. Although after surgery...
Dear UppyRib cartilage can warp and most surgeons try preventive techniques to minimize that risk. In my experience, symmetrically carving the cartilage for the nasal dorsum placement minimizes that risk. I also think that the longer the piece used, the higher the chance of warping. There...
You are an excellent candidate for male reduction rhinoplasty to shave down the hump, improve the alignment and de-rotate the tip; tip reduction and a slight shortening are also suitable.
Dear MimipI think the first step and perhaps the most important one, is for you to decide if your nostril asymmetry is noticeable to you. I dont think you should have surgery if you are not bothered/concerned about the asymmetry regardless of what others are concerned with.In case you are...
I would defintely give it time. With the swelling that occurs with rhinoplasty, the tip is always rotated up to some degree in the immediate post operative period. It usually comes down after several weeks or at most a few months. Good luck!
When I was at Johns Hopkins we used to say there's no right way to do a wrong thing. Nasal implant to been all too common in the past and they all too often lead to this complication the problem is how do you deal with it if it were an infected breast implant we would all recommended to come out...
