I had a ptosis on my left eye 2 weeks ago. The swelling and the redness are mostly gone now, but my eyelids don't look the same. There seems to be some "excess skin" on my left eyelid now. Is it because it's still recovering or did the surgery fail?

It is best to let the eyelid heal for about 3 months and then re-evaluate. You may end up needing revision eyelid ptosis surgery, which is best done using a different technique. See following link.
