I'm 5 foot 5 weighing 120 with a bmi of 20. I would like an actually noticeable difference in my butt. Am I an ok candidate for a bbl? I am a little bit afraid of getting implants because of their unnatural feel and high rates of infection. I would consider bbl with implant but I don't think I would be able to afford that procedure.
Answer: Gaining weight Ideal candidates are at a stable weight, in good health , and have excess fat in some parts of the body and too little in other regions. Gaining weight before the procedure is to no advantage and when you lose weight again the fat cells will shrink just like the donor site fat cells. Typically, the transferred fat results in a significant increase in volume of the body site being treated.

Answer: To Gain or Not to Gain Weight, that IS the Question for BBL! Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. It depends on your goals. The real question to ask is: Is there enough fat available to accomplish your goals? If the answer is no; then I agree your other options are Implant +/- fat grafting. Another option is Medical Grade Permanent Fillers that can be used to give additional volume if you did not want to use an implant.Best of Luck! Please reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. Matthew J. Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift/ Fat grafting/Liposuction/ High Definition Procedures/Butt Implants I appreciate your question. I specialize in Brazilian Butt lifts and body contouring procedures. The amount of enhancement possible depends on how much fat can be harvested from your body. I do not recommend patients gain weight prior to the procedure. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. Best of luck!
