Is it safe to return to work 3 days after Liposuction?

If you were returning to a sedentary job, three days would be adequate to recover from 1200cc fat liposuction.  In your case, walking 8 hours/day and carrying a full tray of drinks would warrant a discussion with your PS who can gauge whether your recovery will permit you to go back to the schedule you describe.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Thanks for the question. It’s too early to comment over the result. First couple of weeks after the surgery you can back to work and couple of weeks later your permanent recovery will start. It’s possible to see some major changes in Liposuction results till the end of 12 months recovery. I wish you all the best

You should be following a strick post procedural protocol, including lymphatic massage and compression which we do for at least 7-10 days post liposuction.  I suggest you speak t o your physician about returning to work.  Best, Dr. Emer.
