Do you recommend BBL/LIPO 360 before or after tummy tuck if doing separately? (photos)

Question

I recently lost 60 pounds and I am interested in getting a tummy tuck to remove the skin from my lower abdomen and I'm also interested in getting a BBL with Lipo 360 to put the fat back into my hips and butt from which I lost and now I have loose skin there as well. I want to do the two procedures separately my question is which one should I do first?

Thank you for the info and question. I'd do the three procedures in one round. I do it all the time with patients so you can go through only 1 recover and get amazing results.

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos, you do have limited fat supply. If you were my patient, I would do VASER Hi Def Lipo 360 degrees with a BBL, and a tummy tuck with a low pubic bone level incision 3-7 days later. This way you will recover at the same time. I would sculpt your arms as well to match the created athletic and youthful torso.

I perform the lipo/TT and BBL in combination for many of my patients. However, if they prefer staging the procedures I always recommend the lipo and BBL first, followed by the TT three to six months later so that the result will be as tight as possible.

You are in very good shape with a normal BMI. You'll need to utilize most of your subcutaneous fat reserves to achieve an appreciable difference with a BBL.  Although it might be more difficult with post operative positioning you could do these procedures together in a safe and effective manner.  Combining the procedure would prevent you from having 2 separate procedures.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello and thank you for the question and photos. When staging a BBL and tummy tuck, it's best to do the BBL first. This is because the BBL involves full 360 liposuction. During this procedure, some of the upper abdomen and side abdomen bloodvessels can be damaged. If you attempt a tummy tuck at the same time, you might cause the skin to lose blood supply and have necrosis ( skin death ) 
Second, if you do the tummy tuck first, you will lose that fat in the lower abdomen that could be used for the butt.

Congratulations on the weight loss. I would NOT lose any more. you have very little fat left for the BBL. in fact, I might suggest you put 10 lbs back on. 
BBL typically takes 2-3 hours under full anesthesia. I would suggest spacing the two procedure apart by a couple months to allow for healing.

As always, be healthy, no smoking, and make sure any health conditions are being managed by your primary care md.

There may be a challenge harvesting enough that for a proper BBL in your case. Because of that you should not throw away skin and fat before doing the BBL procedure.

I recommend doing the BBL first then six months later a full tummy tuck.

Do not have the tummy tuck early after liposuction.

For patients who have more fat I typically steer them towards a tummy tuck first.

Liposuction creates a network of scar tissue that makes the skin and fat less pliable or less stretchy. This does improve with time to some degree.

It takes six months for internal scar tissue to mature.

Skin laxity make someone less of a candidate for both Liposuction and fat transfer so that is something to consider.

In your case an extended or wraparound tummy tuck will have for greater impact than Liposuction with or without fat transfer.
