It’s important to distinguish between varicose veins and spider veins when choosing between laser therapy, sclerotherapy, and vein surgery. With two board certified vein specialists, our center uses a combination of visual examination, functional flow measurements, ultrasound, transillumination, and infrared light to map out vein networks prior to therapy. Lasers can be used to treat deep varicose vein insufficiency, vein perforators, and varicose veins. Sclerotherapy is ideal for spider veins and reticular veins. Whereas surgery is reserved for severely incompetent varicose vein segments.Best,Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Veins on the face can be treated several different ways dependent on the location and size. Specifically for nasal veins if they are small surface laser works great and if little bigger sclerotherapy can be performed. Get a consultation with some one who has experience and good luck with treatment.
The veins you are describing sound like "reticular" veins, larger than spider veins and 2 -3 mm in diameter . As mentioned in other responses, the options for treating these are injections(sclerotherapy), ohmic thermolysis and laser. I don't like to inject sclerosing agents into veins around the nose. These veins in the "danger triangle" are connected to the cavernous sinus through the ophthalmic vein and the ptyregoid plexus. Cavernous sinus thrombophlebitis or thrombosis can occur. A laser targeting the blue vessel is the best option in my opinion. It's painful and it may take several treatments. Also, it takes about 3 weeks after the first treatment to start noticing results.
Depending on their side and depth the options would be either Laser or sclerotherapy. Evaluation by your doctor is the best way to proceed.
First recommend. Consultation to evaluate completely. If these are smaller spider veins, a laser treatment would be perfect and one treatment should do it and price average $200 for 2 small veins on nose.If larger, sclerotherapy is likely your very best option. Pricing will vary. And for larger veins, more than 1 treatment may be needed.Either treatment chosen and if smaller or larger, this can be done safely and relatively quickly for you.Best of luck,Dr. Amy
ExcelV laser treats these very well. It has 2 different settings to treat red or blue vessels.
There are different ways to treat these including sclerotherapy, laser or ohmic termolysis.Dr Karamanoukian
Vessels on the nose are easily treated with a surface laser. The nose is very vascular and may require a few treatments. The laser heats the vessels causing them to collapse and they may appear darker -- as they are essentially cauterized. Your body will then absorb the damaged vessel and it will disappear! It is a pretty rewarding treatment and the lasers that are usually most successful are the KTP 532nm or Nd:Yag 1064nm. Cooling during the treatment is also very important to avoid burning the skin. Good luck!
Nasal veins can be treated a number of ways including laser, sclerotherapy, IPL and fine needle RF. I use sclerotherapy for the larger veins and RF for the smaller veins. Several treatments may be necessary.
The veins on the nose, like other parts of the face, are treatable. I like to use sclerotherapy for larger veins, and RF needle treatment for fine veins. Sometimes several treatments may be required. The goal of any treatment is to cause the vein to scar and close off. Good luck to you,Dr. Powell
Venous insufficiency is absolutely treatable with a laser ablation! There are also two other great options, radio-frequency ablation, and VenaSeal. I would recommend seeing a Vein Specialist to have an evaluation so you can decide which option works best for you. I specialize in Vein...
Micellar water has limited efficacy. Our Hidef protocols work very well for small spider veins when combined with laser and injection sclerotherapy. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian#Realself100 Surgeon
