What things should I do after breast capsulorrhaphy to make it successful?

So, I have decided to go ahead with the surgery so I don't feel like I am $4k out! Still have to pay for the surgery room. (should have got the warranty...). As his success rate is 80% (I'll probably be the 20%), He is VAGUE in telling me what I need to do after to make sure it's successful. Only had these boobs for 5 months and they are causing me GRIEF. Is the pain worse than the augmentation? I don't even know what to expect. Guidance is appreciated. Thanks for your help!

Following a #capsulorraphy, it is not unusual to feel sore and tired during the first 48 to 72 hours. During these first few days, you may engage in light activities, but must refrain from lifting or raising  your arms above your head. Swelling and bruising will subside during the first week after surgery and can be managed by pain medication. The initial surgical tapes will be removed a few weeks after surgery during a post operative visit. #Revision patients typically may return to a work a few days after surgery (only a light workload during the first two weeks). Showers are permitted on post op day #3 if there are no drains. Scars will progressively fade throughout the first year following surgery and products may be applied a few later but only with your surgeon's permission.

Thank you for your question.  Suture capsulorrhaphy alone has a higher failure rate than procedures where we use additional material to help support the breast and the implant.  Without knowing what your exact problem is, it is difficult to make specific recommendations.  However, for a suture capsulorrhaphy alone, very important to take plenty of time off from activity--no working out, no heavy lifting, wearing a bra to support the implant 24/7 for the first 4 weeks, etc.  These are some general recommendations, but always best to get specific instructions from your surgeon.Best wishes.

I am sorry to hear about the complication you have experienced. Your plastic surgeon, knowing your situation best (and exactly what operation is planned)  will be your best resource when it comes to advising you regarding expected discomfort and postoperative activity restriction. Personally, I do believe that limiting upper extremity movement (again, restrictions will depend on the exact type/location of capsulorraphy) important;  over doing activity may lead to recurrence of the breast implant displacement problem. I would suggest that you spend additional time with your plastic surgeon discussing exactly what operation is planned and what activities to avoid postoperatively to increase chances of success.
