Answer: Effective Approaches to Treating Under-Eye Hollows in Young Adults The number of syringes needed to address under-eye hollows can vary depending on several factors, including the severity of the hollows, asymmetry between the eyes, and individual facial anatomy. Typically, for mild to moderate under-eye hollows, many practitioners start with 1 to 2 syringes of hyaluronic acid filler, using small amounts to achieve a natural and balanced appearance. Since you mentioned that one side is deeper than the other, your provider might need to use a bit more filler on that side to create symmetry. It's important to have a consultation with a qualified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who can evaluate your specific needs and provide a personalized treatment plan. They will assess your facial structure and recommend the appropriate amount of filler to achieve the desired results. Additionally, a conservative approach is often taken with under-eye fillers to avoid overcorrection and ensure a natural look. Follow-up appointments may be necessary to assess the results and determine if additional filler is needed.

Answer: RE: How many syringes I will need to help with under eye hollows? Dear Fabulous651112, It is DrHong Fresh Clinic (SK, Seoul). I’ve had a chance to review your photos, though please note that since you are laying down in the image, it is difficult to achieve 100% accuracy. That said, based on my observations, your main issue does not seem to be a lack of volume, but rather a displacement of the under-eye fat pads and some excess fat (though I can’t confirm with absolute certainty due to the limitations of the photos). When there is excess fat in the under-eye area, it can lead to puffiness, as well as hollowing in the malar region (line between under eyes & upper cheeks). In cases like yours, fillers are not an ideal solution, as they won’t effectively address both problems—puffiness and hollowness. Additionally, PRP injections would likely not provide the improvement you're looking for, and I wouldn’t recommend CO2 laser or similar resurfacing treatments, as these are older techniques with lower effectiveness and longer recovery times, especially for non Caucasian or European skin types. Based on the details you’ve shared, I believe you would be a good candidate for under-eye fat repositioning with slight fat removal. This is a very popular procedure in Korea and Japan, as it effectively addresses this common issue in the region. Best regards,Dr. HongFresh Clinic (Seoul, South Korea)

Answer: Minimum amount of dermal fillers (HA) to treat hollow under eyes Thank you for your question and attached photo. The ideal treatment for hollow under eyes is a dermal filler using only Hyaluronic Acid (HA). As in regards to the amount of HA, it should be minimum and every patient should be assessed individually. I have treated hundreds of patients with hollow under eyes concerns using HA and the maximum amount I used is 0,5ml or 0,7 ml of HA. The technique of the treatment / injection is the most important part of the under-eye treatment and the amount should be really minimum and ideally it should be done in 2 or 3 stages with a gap of 3-4 weeks in between each session.Permanent dermal filler such as Radiesse or Aquamid (Calcium Based products) or Ellanse (Poly-Caprolactone) should be not used under the eyes area as they will get lumpy as there is a risk of migration and capsulation and with time they will show a shadow of visible lumps.Mr Ayham Al-Ayoubi Facial Plastic & Laser Surgeon

Answer: A Robust HA Volumizing Filler Cheek Augmentation Can Help Diminish Under-Eye Hollows I am not surprised by the lack of success with PRP, since this modality, much like the use of expensive, "bells and whistles" light and energy-based devices (such as fraxel lasers and RF gizmos), is supported far more by advertising and marketing hype and social media buzz rather than hard science. Sorry. At least from the one distant front-face view provided, there appears to be volume deficits in the border regions between the under-eyes and the upper cheeks, which would explain the pronounced depression there. If this is indeed so, then the appropriate choice of volumizing HA filler when injected properly in the hands of an expert, board certified cosmetic dermatology filler expert can smooth the transition region and significantly diminish the hollows you so dislike. At least from what I can see, approximately one syringe per side should do the trick with the results being immediate and the treatment engendering little to no significant post-treatment downtime. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Answer: How much do I need? An in person evaluation is best, but one syringe per side is a good starting point to improve under eye contours. A rule of thumb is one syringe of filler for every 10 years of age. So 24 years equates to 2.4 syringes. Visit with an expert injector who can provide more specific recommendations based on your treatment goals.
