Hello, I have been getting injectable fillers on and off for seven years now, I like the results of one syringe but I would like something more permanent should I go with lip lift to show more of the red part of my lip or should I go with lip implants to show more of the red part of my lip? I'm open to any and all suggestions! Thanks in advance!
Answer: Permalip Lip Implant VS Lip Lift Thank you for your question. Permalip Implants are a great permanent solution to volumised lips. Patients will experience movement of the Permalip initially until the body form scar tissue around it, preventing it from moving side to side. A week course of antibiotics should be given after your surgery. I normally perform Permalip under local anaesthetic, however all patients have a different pain threshold, therefore some may find it more comfortable under twilight sedation. Lip Lift will make the red part of your lip slightly fuller however will not add volume, also you are left with a scar under the nose area or just on the outline of your lip. I would suggest Permalip implants would be most suited to you. Please make sure you find a reputable and qualified plastic surgeon who can assess you properly to give you a realistic idea of what outcome you can achieve. All The Best

Answer: I depends on your goal If you likes the filler alone, then an implant would work well (5mm most likely). I agree that you look good with the lip lift as you've simulated, but there is the scar to contend with. See a couple board certified Plastic Surgeons and discuss the options in person. Good luck!

Answer: Lip Implant Depends on your goals. You appear to have a very thin upper lip. Lip implants could certainly offer improvements.

Answer: Lip implant vs. lip lift? Want something permanent. Hi, I have performed many lip augmentation procedures using dermal fillers or lip implants for over 30 years. From the photos, your upper lip is very thin. Following my beauty principles, the upper lip should be approximately 75 % the size of the lower lip for the lips to appear balanced. The lips can be augmented using a dermal filler or a Permalip implant. Dermal filers and lip implants offer a much more reliable volume for augmentation of the lips than permanent fillers or fat injections which are associated with increased, unwanted, side effects. In addition the photos show that your face is rectangularly shaped with cheeks are flat in the front and your chin is weak. I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Following my beauty principles, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front. Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face. I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin and "pseudo-jowls". Pseudo jowls differ from "jowls" in what causes them, what they represent and how they are best treated. Pseudo jowls are defined by a fold of tissue laxity that goes from the corners of the mouth to approximately 1/3 or 1/2 the distance to the lower jaw line. It’s caused by a weak chin and its lack of tissue support around the chin and mouth area. It's best treated by correcting of the weak chin with a silastic chin implant. Jowls are described below in greater detail. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery. In contrast to all that has been mentioned above, a lip lift will decrease the distance between the upper lip and nasal base but will also change the natural shape and contour of the upper lip while having no ability to feminize the face.Hope this helps.
